History is not only told, it is also lived. In the heart of Los Cristianos, the Hotel Reverón Plaza is not just an accommodation: it is the first lodging in the south of Tenerife and a living symbol of the island’s tourism development. Almost a century after its founding, its walls hold memories, anecdotes, and the essence of a family hospitality that has accompanied generations of travelers.
Today we open our most special archive to share with you unseen photos that narrate the transformation of a hotel that has been, since 1929, a witness to the changes in Los Cristianos and a refuge for those seeking rest facing the Atlantic.
The early days: a pioneering dream in Los Cristianos.
In 1928, Antonia Reverón Sierra and her son Juan Reverón Sierra founded the Fonda Aeropuerto, considered the first tourist complex in the south of Tenerife. In a small coastal town without running water or electricity, they welcomed the first travelers with closeness and genuine hospitality. That establishment, which later became Fonda Reverón, Pensión Reverón, and Hostal Reverón, became the foundation on which tourism would be consolidated in Los Cristianos and throughout the south of the island.

The photographs from that time show a place that not only offered rest but also provided basic services such as drinking water and light to the local community, even supporting foreign visitors who came to improve their health with the unique climate of the area. Decades later, in 1996, the hostel gave way to the current Hotel Reverón Plaza, a four-star hotel that maintains the legacy of four generations dedicated to tourism and caring for people.
Faces and moments that tell stories.
The albums show families on vacation, honeymooning couples, and European travelers who returned year after year. Each photograph is a testimony to the closeness and human treatment that has always characterized the Reverón Plaza.
The hotel was the scene of encounters, celebrations, and shared experiences that marked the social life of the area. More than a resting place, it was—and still is—a space for connection between people and cultures.

The experience of yesterday and today.
A century later, the Hotel Reverón Plaza continues to offer the same essence: hospitality with soul, but adapted to the times. Its rooms, terraces, and the rooftop overlooking the bay of Los Cristianos have been modernized to provide comfort, without losing the authenticity that is felt in every detail.
The old photos remind us of guests enjoying the sun and the ocean; today, from those same balconies, our visitors continue to marvel at the sunrises over the Atlantic. The view remains, the experience evolves.
A legacy that lives on.
The passage of years has not erased history, it has integrated it. Every stay at the Hotel Reverón Plaza is part of a unique family and tourist legacy in Southern Tenerife. The tradition of hospitality that began in 1929 is maintained in the smiles of the team, in collaboration with local projects like Bodega Reverón or the Hotel Spa Villalba, and in the promise that here you will always find closeness, authenticity, and excitement.
A century of memories has brought us here. Now it is your turn to create yours.
