Las Vistas Beach is the main urban beach in Los Cristianos. It has light-coloured sand, calm waters and views of La Gomera. It is situated in the municipality of Arona, in the south of Tenerife, just west of the harbour. From the centre of Los Cristianos, it’s about a 10-minute walk along the seafront promenade.
If you’ve already decided to go there, here’s some practical information: how to get there depending on where you’re coming from, what facilities you’ll find and how to make the most of your day.
How to get to Las Vistas Beach

On foot from Los Cristianos
- Time: around 10 minutes from the harbour
- Route: seafront promenade, flat with no hills
This is the easiest option. From the harbour, follow the promenade westwards and the beach soon comes into view. The promenade is wide and lined with terraces and shops. If you’re staying in the centre of Los Cristianos, you won’t need a car.
By guagua (bus)
- Operator: TITSA, Tenerife’s public transport company
- Stop: any stop in Los Cristianos, then a few minutes’ walk
Several routes connect Los Cristianos with Costa Adeje, Las Américas and the rest of the south. If you’re coming from Santa Cruz, routes 110, 111 and 112 stop in Los Cristianos. Check the latest timetables on the TITSA website or app before you set off, as they change with the season.
By car
- Access: TF-1 motorway, Los Cristianos / Playa de las Américas exit
- Parking: there are spaces next to the beach, but they fill up quickly
There are more than 100 parking spaces around the beach. In high season and at weekends, they’re usually taken from early in the morning. If you don’t fancy driving round in circles, head straight for a pay car park: the one at Los Cristianos harbour or the one on Avenida Valle Menéndez. From either, the beach is just a short stroll away.
From Tenerife South Airport
- Distance: around 15–17 km
- By bus: route 40 (airport – Los Cristianos – Costa Adeje), daily, roughly every 30 minutes
- At night: route 711
- By taxi or car: around 20 minutes via the TF-1, depending on traffic
Route 40 is the simplest and cheapest way to arrive with luggage. Get off in Los Cristianos and walk to your accommodation or straight to the beach.
What Playa de Las Vistas offers

It’s one of the best-equipped beaches in the south of the island. Here are the key facts:
- Length: 850 metres of light-coloured sand
- Water: calm, sheltered by breakwaters
- Blue Flag: yes, again in 2026
- Facilities: toilets, showers, foot showers, sunbed and parasol hire, tourist information, bars and restaurants
- Lifeguards: lifeguard service on the beach
- Accessibility: boardwalks and adapted access points, with a free assisted bathing service
In the middle of the bay you’ll see an artificial island with a fountain that sprays seawater into the air. It’s the beach’s most recognisable landmark and a handy meeting point.
A truly accessible beach
Las Vistas stands out for its accessibility. It has boardwalks down to the water’s edge, wooden platforms, shaded areas and a free adapted bathing service for people with reduced mobility. Arona Town Council provides it at this beach all year round. If you need it, ask about times at the lifeguard station.
Practical tips

The best time to go
- In the morning: more space on the sand and easier parking.
- At sunset: the sun sets behind La Gomera and the light is spectacular.
The wind
The breakwaters protect the bathing area from the waves, but the beach itself is exposed. Some afternoons there’s a breeze, so a firmly planted parasol and a light layer come in handy.
What to bring
- High-factor sun cream: the sun in the south of Tenerife is strong all year round
- Water and a hat
- Comfortable shoes if you plan to walk along the promenade
- A towel, although you can hire a sunbed and parasol on the spot
Surroundings: promenade and places to eat
Walk to Las Américas
The promenade continues westwards. It passes El Camisón beach and reaches Playa de las Américas, around 1.5 km away. It’s a flat route, ideal for a late-afternoon stroll.
Where to eat nearby
All along the promenade you’ll find restaurants of every kind, from international cuisine to fresh fish and Canarian dishes. For something more local, head back towards the harbour and the old town of Los Cristianos: narrow streets with terraces just a few minutes from the sand.
And if you’d like to discover the town’s other beach, read our guide to Los Cristianos beach. It’s on the other side of the harbour and has a quieter, more local feel.
