Ifonche is a hiking area, so most of those who come here go with boots and a backpack, not with a tourist camera.
From this point, you can see the Barranco del Infierno, the Roque del Conde, and on clear days, La Gomera outlined on the horizon. It is a free access viewpoint, perfect for mid-morning, when the light is still soft, and the silence of the mountain is truly felt.

3. La Centinela Viewpoint.
Located on the border between Arona and San Miguel, La Centinela offers one of the most complete panoramic views of the south: the ocean, the ravines, and the Teide looming in the background, all from a platform that rarely gets crowded.
Sunset is when it is best understood why it is worth climbing up here. The light falls on the coast, and the volcano is tinted with tones that are not seen from the beach. Bring some warm clothes: at this height, the breeze always blows a little stronger than in Los Cristianos.

4. Montaña Roja Viewpoint, El Médano.
This 171-meter volcanic cone is quite a surprise for those who do not expect it. The ascent is short and accessible, without the need for previous hiking experience, and the reward is a 360-degree view of El Médano’s beaches, the Natural Reserve, and, in the background, the silhouette of Montaña Pelada.
As it is somewhat far from the most crowded tourist areas, it remains a well-kept secret even for those who visit the island several times.

5. Boca del Paso Viewpoint.
Within the hiking route between Ifonche and Adeje, Boca del Paso offers something different: the Teide and the southern peaks are seen from an angle that almost nobody photographs, surrounded by rocky walls and native vegetation.
It is not a viewpoint for cars and parking; you have to walk to get there. And that, precisely, is what keeps it away from the hustle and bustle.
Ideal for: those looking for nature in its purest state, without artifice.
